During my senior year of high school, we were given the chance to step out of the classroom and into the real world with a week-long internship at a business of our choice. Without hesitation, I chose to intern with Brian Perdue, CEO of Salon 124, and it turned out to be one of the most eye-opening experiences of my journey in fashion.

That week, he introduced me to the Spring/Summer show at AmericasMart in Atlanta, Georgia, where I got a firsthand look at the art of buying and selling fashion. I spent my days immersed in the industry—observing market trends, meeting vendors, and learning directly from boutique owners about what it takes to build a successful brand. Seeing the behind-the-scenes of fashion retail and understanding the strategy behind curating collections only deepened my passion for this industry. It was more than just an internship—it was a glimpse into my future.
