Salon 124 Monroe
Salon Receptionist / Social Media Manager / Event Coordinator
(January 2024 – September 2024)
After interning for Brian Perdue, CEO of Salon 124, in February of 2023, I had the honor of coming to work for him in the hair salon industry! Working at Salon 124 Monroe was an exciting blend of creativity, strategy, and fast-paced customer interaction. I wasn’t just managing appointments and greeting clients—I was helping shape the salon’s brand presence both in person and online. Through styling and curating engaging social media content, I brought the salon’s services to life, capturing eye-catching visuals that resonated with our audience. Photography, editing, and trend-driven marketing became second nature as I learned how to craft a digital identity that attracted new clients and kept regulars engaged.

Beyond the screen, I loved connecting with customers, ensuring they had a seamless and welcoming experience from the moment they walked in. Balancing front-desk operations with creative marketing meant juggling schedules, coordinating services, and making sure everything ran smoothly—something I truly thrived in. Whether I was launching a new promotional campaign, engaging with followers online, or making sure every detail was in place for the day’s appointments, I embraced every opportunity to blend organization with innovation. This experience fueled my passion for branding and consumer engagement, reinforcing my love for storytelling through fashion, beauty, and digital media.

UNICORN DAY - APRIL 5, 2024

In the heart of downtown Monroe, GA, Unicorn Day is a magical all-day event created by the whimsical children’s bookstore, The Story Shop. As a new addition to the downtown scene, Salon 124 was eager to immerse itself in the community, and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to blend salon creativity with the enchantment of the day.

To stay true to the salon’s brand while embracing the unicorn theme, my coworker and I transformed our storefront into a mini fairytale salon. We spent the day outside, bringing smiles to kids' faces by giving them colorful hair extensions, vibrant dyed hair spray, and adorable unicorn accessories like barrettes and masks—all topped off with a sprinkle of fairy dust.

To make the day even more special, we hosted a "Magical Unicorn Raffle" featuring a gift basket filled with salon goodies: high-quality hair products, a voucher for a free haircut, a unicorn stuffed animal, and fun coloring books. The only entry requirement? A follow on our Instagram page. The idea was a hit—by the end of the day, we had gained over 200 new followers, expanding our online reach and solidifying our presence in the Monroe community.

Unicorn Day was more than just a themed event—it was a creative and strategic way to connect with families, showcase our salon’s personality, and turn a fun-filled day into a lasting brand experience.
SENIOR SATURDAY - MAY 4, 2024

Senior Saturday was created as a special celebration for the graduating class of 2024 in Walton County, and I had the exciting opportunity to bring it to life. I coordinated with multiple schools across the county to find the perfect time for the event, ensuring that as many students as possible could participate. To make the day even more memorable, I reached out to local small businesses, forming a dynamic collaboration with Smiley Pop Co. and Forever Forged.

Smiley Pop Co., a female-owned business, specializes in customized trucker hats, sweatshirts, and trendy accessories, while Forever Forged—a mother-daughter-run brand—offers permanent jewelry pop-ups. Together, we created a fun and interactive experience at Salon 124 Monroe. We welcomed guests with drinks, snacks, and an exclusive 24% discount on all products. To add to the excitement, we hosted a giveaway featuring salon products and gift cards from Salon 124 Monroe, Smiley Pop Co., and Forever Forged.

The event was a huge success—customers loved the unique shopping experience, and we not only sold a significant amount of inventory but also gained new clients in the salon. Senior Saturday wasn’t just a celebration; it was a community-driven experience that brought together local businesses, future graduates, and Salon 124 Monroe in a truly memorable way.

TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY - MAY 9, 2024

At Salon 124 in Monroe, we had the privilege of hosting Teacher Appreciation Night to celebrate the dedicated educators of George Walton Academy. The school wanted to give their teachers a well-deserved evening of relaxation and reached out to us to bring it to life. I worked closely with their coordinator to plan the perfect night—one filled with pampering, great food, and a little extra gratitude.

To make the evening truly special, we provided complimentary blowouts for all the teachers, along with gift bags stocked with high-quality hair products. For those interested, we also handed out vouchers for free haircuts, giving them another reason to treat themselves in the future. And because no celebration is complete without good food, we partnered with a local Mexican restaurant to cater a taco bar, chips and salsa, and bottomless margaritas.

The night was a huge success—full of laughter, relaxation, and well-earned appreciation. By the end of the evening, more than half of the teachers had already booked their next appointments, and many have since become loyal clients. It was an incredible way to give back to those who give so much to their students every day, and we were honored to be a part of it.
